What Services Are Included in Veterans’ Home Care?

For many veterans, maintaining independence at home is a priority. The Veterans’ Home Care (VHC) Program is designed to provide essential support, ensuring you continue living comfortably and safely in your own space.
At Abled Care and Nursing Services, we understand the unique needs of veterans and war widows. Our compassionate team is here to support you with everyday tasks, allowing you to enjoy a stress-free life in the place you call home.
Honoring Your Service with the Care You Deserve
The Veterans’ Home Care (VHC) Program, funded by the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA), offers practical assistance to eligible veterans and war widows/widowers. This program provides access to home care services that promote independence and improve quality of life.
If you qualify for the VHC Program, you can choose Abled Care and Nursing Services as your preferred provider for in-home support.
Can You Access Veterans’ Home Care?
To be eligible for VHC, you must have one of the following:
(for an accepted service-related injury or condition)
Eligibility is determined by the VHC Assessment Agency, which will review your circumstances to decide on the level of support you require.
Your Path to Veterans’ Home Care
Applying for Veterans’ Home Care is a simple process:
Step 1: Contact the VHC Assessment Agency
Call 1300 550 450 to speak with a VHC assessor.
Step 2: Phone Assessment
An assessment will be conducted over the phone to understand your needs and determine the appropriate level of support.
Step 3: Care Plan Development
After your assessment, a personalised care plan will be created, detailing the services you qualify for. This plan will be shared with you and your chosen provider.
Once your services are approved, a provider (such as Abled Care and Nursing Services) will be assigned to deliver the required support.
